Filmmakers’ Five blog creator

Social media event coverage

Film synopsis copywriting

Other content & digital editorial

I joined the Newport Beach Film Festival in 2010 to assist with a variety of social media and content needs. I started my work drafting quippy and informative synopsis copy for each of the films showing at the festival.

I was then asked to help drive additional engagement and buzz around the festival on social media channels. I created a blog where I interviewed filmmakers to ask them a series of five questions - what’s the film about, what’s the inspiration, what do you like most about the filmmaking process, least, and tell us a funny story…

We used the blog to generate buzz and I worked with a number of platforms who were at the time gaining momentum and uesrbase to create geotagged locations for the various locations where events would be occurring throughout the festival.

Finally, I provided a comprehensive and interactive peek into the happenings behind the scenes, with actors, filmmakers and festival goers alike. We saw a spike in interactions and traffic to the site.
